KY State Fair

On Aug 21, we took a field trip to the KY State Fair in Louisville. Nan and Poppy came all the way from TN to join us...they really like state fairs! The kids decided to spend our nature study hour at the fair with the animals. Each made a list of observations, but mostly they just took in all the cacophony of sounds and sights and smells. Embree really wanted to bring home a rabbit...I think Reeves would have loved to ride a goat...and Brice, of course, was ga-ga about the chickens! I think we would all love to live somewhere we could raise chickens & rabbits, maybe a cow or burro...maybe a goat or two.
The fairgrounds were sparkling clean, the people were friendly, the lines were short, and the weather was mild and sunny. The kids rode all the rides they could fit into the three hours we allotted, and enjoyed viewing the competitions. We all enjoye the cakees! We had a great day and can't wait to go again next year.
